Well I'm kinda new here and I did two things, I made a topic and made a mistake, As I cannot take the topic down I wont post all that here but just a summary.
Maybe the Coop mission can have some condition or restriction placed on them without adding another super weapon. Like in the weapon base assault, there can be an altitude restriction until the player sink a few comm ship. These can be optional task that award an advantage of more rewards or easier mission.
For example the player sink all the comm boat under altitude restriction - then some transport flight spawns. There practically sitting ducks even for an attacker!
Though the players can choose to ignore this and the mission continues normally.

I won't ask or complain about the cliff hangar ending though I would love to see some different type of missions!

Currently there are three types
First, the normal mission's or the 'grunt massacre time'
Secondly, the 'Emergency mission' or the 'Mid way madness'
And finally, the 'The Emergency Raid' mission, AKA Super-weapon Assault.
I didn't count the team death match as they were and most likely still will be limited time events.
One way to make the game more challenging is to add more super-weapons strike capabilities on the enemy side. As of right now only the StoneHenge and the Scrinfaxi is capable of launching the air burst munitions.
I acknowledge that implementing new stuff like the meson cannon and microwave weapon from Ace combat X might not be feasible as it will require a lot of effort on part of the dev team but things will get interesting of there is a random condition applied.
For Example in the Weapon base assault Co-op mission there can be a condition like an altitude restriction is applied until the pilots sink a communication boat. I think this can be applied on all the map's.
Similarly their can be a condition that there are a lot of MANPADS deployed in the area so the player is in danger if he flied too low and slow.
And the missile intercept, the Jamming renders the radar inefficient but I doubt that it affects anyone. The Jamming around the StoneHenge is hardcore, because of that I can fire missile on ground target without locking on them from a very far distance! Though it needs a lot of practice and there is a high chance that you will miss
I suggest that the jamming also increase the lock on time, to replicate the effects of jamming better and it would be more of a challenge.
And I went off topic a bit.
As the Butterfly drones have the capability to shoot down missiles, It would be feasible for the naval ships having a chance to shoot down missile's if fired from a long range.(Only Long range Air to ship missile may be an exception)
This will force the pilots to hold back until the last moment to get a sure hit.
And something tells me we need more flying fortresses in game! Nothing more to add to that.
Finally a fortress assault mission would be good, like first you pound it from outside so that it's gate opens and then fly through it, tearing it apart from inside. Also there definitely should be two path ways, forcing players so split up.
I could go on but that's enough for now.
